The super marketing strategy of maltalunch

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

Admit that you feel a part of the maltalunch community when you’ve just written your first restaurant review, that’s why I’m no longer writing the review myself but let YOU stand for the content. Not is it only easier for me, but lets the whole Malta community of restaurant visitors share their experience, and not only mine so often sarcastic view on things.

I don’t do any advertising for this site, I’ve tried some well targeted facebook PPC (Pay Per Click) ads, but soon realized that those will have my out of business in no time. Instead, I use tools such as twitter, the facebook group, but most important my restaurant visits to engage in a conversation about maltalunch. Good ideas spread!

Now go on and make us both a favor and buy Seth Godin’s Permission marketing from my Amazon.com affiliate store. I’ll promise that the 15% rev share I get will be invested in this site.

Who are you, i.e the maltalunch readers?

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

On an average we get 5-10 returning visitors each day where as the main part of the traffic are new visitors. 86% are local traffic from Malta which proves its being used and popular by the Maltese audience.

It was interesting to follow the case with my previous blog post about Jones Cane Suger Soda which was picked up in a Yahoo Finance thread and delivered todate 57 unique visitors.

Ehm, there was this accident.. and they took my laptop… ehm, I mean a UFO landed in my graden and lazer beemed me… ehm… no, you don’t belive me?

Ok, we’re currently busy travelling hence the next post is not scheduled before mid next week.

Despite this slight interruption we’re working on some GREAT reviews, or how about ‘Hummer akademin’ in Hunnebostrand, Sweden (The lobster academy), the Turkish kebabs’ in Malta and contemporary lunch at the waterfront hotel…?

Until then I’ll finish of my black Zoega’s coffee with home baked sweet pastries and watch ‘Benny Hill – Fun in the kitchen’.
