Just went to Star café around the corner for a quick lunch. Ordered a Caesar wrap from the ready-made counter. I have no problems with someone using the mini calculator to calculate the change from a €5 note of €3.15 – better accurate that fast

Oh crappers. Yeah, I will never eat there again after I went in and ordered a chicken burger and got a deep fried piece of fillet bent in an arch, crisp beyond crispiness, served on a bun.
And there I was, trying to make a healthier choice than a beef burger.
I am really surprised to read all this about Star Cafe….I have been there a few times myself and have never been let down. Food was always fresh and nicely presented. Also the good service and friendly, efficient staff make it a pleasant lunch venue.
With the demise of ali baba, gzira has become a disaster for us gaming people. Yesterday i found myself at kfc. kfc!!!! i was embarrassed to be there, and when i finally got back, the salad was as bad as yours. fresher, but tasteless and full of croutons. And the guy in the corner selling chicken things (the italian ‘deli’) has a special system for pricing: basically he charges you whatever he feels like. I paid €13 for two chicken things wrapped in bacon, two slices of aubergine, a tablespoon of mushrooms and a tablespoon of sun dried cherry tomatoes. i might as well have gone to chez philippe!
Thanks for all your comments! At least Chez Philipe is good! Any ideas where to lunch today? We have started to buy plain fresh bread and make our own sandwiches now… soo much better!

Star Cafe is great in my eyes …. its a blessing for me that it opened so close by to us : )) I guess everybody has a bad day … but I must say I am quite surprised to hear the above … not usual of them AT ALL !!!!
Starcafe is one big joke. There is always something that goes wrong when ordering. If it is not that you have to wait for your food for 40 minutes, then it is that you get the wrong order. The eye you get from the staff when entering is something that makes you want to make a u-turn and go straight out again.
