Nikki beach is a well known concept around a few places in the Med as well as New York, Miami and Hollywood. This place in Malta is definitely not included – but stealing the logo with pride doesn’t seem to be a problem for the owners here
Our mission is not judge the legal aspect of stealing trademarks but to blog about our food experience. “Nikki beach” has a really good kitchen being open from noon to 3pm and opening again around 7pm. till late.
We tried the red snapper with roasted potatoes and a bottle of the classic rosé d’anjou. Food is great, price is normal, come here at around 8pm to enjoy the sunset!

I have eaten at Nikki Beach twice.
The first time, I booked a table for 19:00, got there slightly earlier with the intention of tasting the mixed sea food dish, which all my friends had praised.
After waiting for around 25 minutes, they finally gave us some menus. By then the restaurant was filling up fast, so it took them another 20 minutes till they came to take our order.
My friend and I ordered the mixed seafood platter, and ordered some steaks as mains. I asked for my steak to be served blue to rare, while my friend asked for it to be served rare.
After another 10 minutes or so, the waiter informed us that the mixed seafood platters had finished as they had been ordered by other patrons..We obviously were livid at this point, as we were there early for that specific reason, and people who had sat down after us, were being served with the plate we ordered.
Then came the main course…I admit I was happy with my steak, there was enough blood in it to give a mini transfusion, however my friend wasn’t as lucky. She cut the side of the steak to see it fully cooked.
When she complained, the waiter took the plate back and apologised. Within a minute, the owner and manager of the place came back to our table and showed us that in the middle of the steak there was some blood…
Obviously my friend refused to eat it claiming that a rare steak isn’t just rare in the middle of the steak and fully cooked all around! He therefore proceeded to cut around the steak, leaving her with something resembling a jack frost burger!!
The second time I went, I was in the neighbourhood and joined some friends of mine who happened to be eating there. They ordered fish pasta dishes. The food didn’t take too long to arrive this time (around 40 minutes), however they asked for salt, and it took around 5 minutes to come back with it, (with the pasta going cold).
To add insult to injury, the salt in the shakers were replaced by sugar, (probably some pesky kid). Unfortunately the sugar obviously ruined all their dishes, however it took them a short while to notice what exactly was tasting funny or off.
When they complained to the owner, he told them that it wasn’t his fault and offered to give them a small discount on the price. The total bill with wine and food was meant to cost around 100 euros, of which my friends thought it fair to pay 50 euro (since the drinks and wine was fine).
He once again showed good hosting skills by swearing at them and asking them to never show up at the restaurant. I sure as hell can’t wait for someone else to take over the restaurant, as the chefs do a great job, only for their patrons to leave with a bitter taste in their mouth (or sweet in this case).
